Policies and Procedures

STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN SCHOOL AND ON TIME.

Classes are two and a half (2 1/2 ) hours long.  Students are expected to attend for the entire two and a half hours each day their class is scheduled.

After three (3) absences in a semester a student will be dropped for poor attendance.

Six (6) tardies (10 minutes or more) or leaving early (10 minutes or more) are equal to one absence.  Excessive breaks are not acceptable behavior.  When a student needs to leave the classroom, he/she is expected to return as soon as possible.

Though we try to provide a friendly environment, campus is not the place for students to spend extended time socializing.  Students are only here for two and a half hours a day and that time should be dedicated to completing the requirements for graduation.

If a student has a work related need to leave early or be absent a day– the student should bring a copy of their work schedule to the teacher before the absence.

If a student needs to be absent – the student is to call to notify the teacher of the absence and the reason for the absence.  If a student calls to say he/she will be out for 2 days – EACH DAY the student is absent he/she needs to call the teacher.

If a student has a situation out of the student’s control – illness, no transportation,  sick child– speak with the teacher about the situation.  If the student lets the teacher know about the situation and gives the teacher an expected return date, the teacher can place the student as “inactive” and the student will not have to re-register (pay another registration fee) to come back into the class.

Attendance Verifications:  Student must request the verification in person at the office.  The verification will be available the next working day.  Please note that a student has to have a minimum of 30 consecutive hours of attendance before a verification will be processed.
